When an accident involves both a train and a motor vehicle it is almost always fatal for the occupants of the vehicle. This point is unfortunately seen in a recent train vs. automobile accident that occurred in south Fulton County. According to the authorities, the driver of the vehicle was trying to cross a set of railroad tracks after the crossing bars were activated. Tragically the driver did not make it prior to the CSX train striking the vehicle. As a result, the passenger of the vehicle was killed and the driver had to be airlifted to a local hospital. The accident occurred at the intersection of Rock Hill Road and Roosevelt Highway. The authorities involved have not indicated whether the driver will be charged in connection with the accident.
