If you bought an Easy-Bake Oven in May of 2006 or thereafter you need to be aware of a very serious recall that has just been issued. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has just alerted the public to a recall of more than a million Easy-Bake-Ovens due to very serious hazards it presents such as third degree burns and broken fingers to consumers.

The oven being distributed as a purple and pink plastic stove usually resembles a kitchen range with four burners on the top. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission more than 250 reports have been filed with children getting their fingers caught in the oven and, of those, another 77 reported receiving burns from the oven itself. According to one source of those, at least 16 cases of third-degree burns have been reported. There is even one case of a partial finger amputation stemming from one of these burns.

The ovens denoted in the recall were typically sold at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, KB Toys and other retailers nationwide from May 2006 through February 2007 for about $25 each.

Those whose loved ones who have either suffered burns or other injuries from the Easy-Bake Ovens should contact a personal injury attorney to ensure their rights and family members are protected.

It is also important for those injured by the Easy-Bake Oven to not discard the oven itself no matter what you are told. It will be evidence in proving you child or loved one was in fact injured from the defective product. Just make sure to keep it out of reach of anyone else who might use the product unknowingly.

Consumers affected by this product not sustaining any injuries can call Hasbro at 800-601-8418 or visit the Hasbro website to get a voucher for another Hasbro product. The Easy-Bake Oven Product Recall Form itself can be found here.
