Due to elevated levels of iron in 12 different lots, Bausch and Lomb has issued a limited recall on its ReNu MultiPlus lens care solution. The affected lots are said to have been manufactured in Greenville, South Carolina. Over 1 million of the bottles from 9 of the 12 lots were distributed in the United States alone.

The affected lots include:

GC6030, GC6037, GC6038, GC6045, GC6048, GC6052, GC6061, GC6063, GC6072, GC6073, GC6080, GC6085

This voluntary recall comes on the heels of another recall involving Bausch and Lomb in 2006 after their ReNu with MositureLoc solution was linked to a serious eye condition called Fusarium keratitis. This batch caused injures to thousands of people who are still seeking redress for their injuries. Although this recall is not expected to be as serious, anyone with the bottles from the above listed lots is advised to discontinue its use immediately.
