While working on the third floor of a new dormitory at Spring Hill College in Mobile Alabama, a 25-year-old man was suddenly crushed by 10-by-8 concrete wall that collapsed on him. Angelo Sanchez, deceased, lived in Atlanta but was working on the project for his employer at the time of the incident. There has been no word on what actually caused the wall to collapse but the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has started an investigation to sort out the event.

In Georgia and Alabama alike, events such as this tragic one may be compensable under the workers compensation act. Under this act, it does not matter what caused the wall to fall. All that matters is that the employee be doing work within the scope of his employment and that it be in furtherance of employer's benefit. The compensation derived thereof could be used to help the family members left behind now dealing with this devastating accident in the future.

One of our personal injury attorney's can offer you more advice and possible options about a potential worker's compensation claim.
