A result of frequent exposure to asbestos is mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that usually takes anywhere from 20 to 60 years for someone to notice they have it. People who are more susceptible to mesothelioma are individuals who work in asbestos mines, manufacture asbestos products, employees in construction trades, and employees in shipyards.

There are two common types of mesothelioma:

  • Peritoneal mesothelioma (abdomen organs)
  • Pleural mesothelioma (lung cancer)

Mesothelioma Symptoms: There are only a few symptoms in the beginning stages. More symptoms are present when the cancer becomes advanced. Other symptoms include:

  • Chronic coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest Pain
  • Coughing that worsens over time
  • Coughing up blood
  • Fatigue
  • Wheezing
  • Lung infection
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss

Treatments for mesothelioma include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Photodynamic therapy
  • Surgery

Is this something after 30 years of being exposed to asbestos - and have not had any health issues, still file suit against... emotional distress?
